OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — The Pottawattamie County Community Foundation has established a scholarship fund in honor of Cari Farver.

Farver was murdered by Shanna Golyar back in November of 2012. The feud started when Farver started dating a man who broke it off with Golyar.

Investigators believe Golyar stabbed Farver to death, burned her body, and then tried to assume her identity.

Golyar was charged with 1st degree murder and sentenced to life in prison plus 18-20 years back in 2017.

One of the goals of this scholarship fund is to reclaim the narrative surrounding Cari's life and honor her.

Anybody wishing to contribute to the fund may contact the Pottawattamie County Community Foundation at 712-265-7007 or just mail contributions to their office at 536 East Broadway Council Bluffs, Iowa 51503.
